Nicki Minaj vs Remy Ma: The Feud
Where did the drama between Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma begin?
As the drama continues from yesterday when Remy Ma released the track "ShETHER" towards Nicki Minaj, social media is going crazy! But where did it all start? We have you covered! The feud started all the way back in 2007 with Nicki's freestyle track "Dirty Money" from her mixtape "Playtime is Over". Minaj recites in the track "Tell that bitch with the crown to run it like Chris Brown, she won three rounds. I'ma need a hundred thou like Chinatown — bitches better bow down, oh you ain't know, betcha bitches know now, fuck I got a gun let her know that I'm the one".
Minaj reportedly neither confirmed nor denied that the song was about Remy. However Remy Ma remarked in 2010 during an interview, "To this day I still feel like the song is a stab at me, I'm gonna get her back for that one". Since 2011, Remy stated that she supported Minaj and her success, but added that she would be a problem once she was released from prison.
As the drama between the two female rappers died down over the years, on Christmas Day last year World Star Hip Hop released a music video of Phresher's Wait a Minute Remix featuring Remy. As Remy raps "Get rid of those fake breasts and put a vest on this bitch chest" and "That ghostwriter bout to call her, that lifeline getting shorter," leading some to believe that she was targeting Minaj. Remy later said she doesn't do subliminals. "Whenever I've had a problem with any female in the entire game, I will say your name. I am going to say your government" she said.
