MUTYA KEISHA SIOBHAN - 'BOYS'
The time has finally come MKS fans! Mutya Keisha Siobhan or as you may know them as the original Sugababes, a track recorded back in the day (like what I did there? maybe not but never mind ) titled 'Boys' has recently surfaced in full audio.
The song all started back when Keisha Buchanan posted a video of the girls performing the song acapella on YouTube and then being performed live on their 'Sacred Three Tour' around the United Kingdom back in 2013. Later on after the girls status went quiet a 15 second studio snippet of the song leaked in early January 2015 on YouTube teasing fans once more. Once again the girls status went quiet throughout the year then in June 2016 at a Gay Pride event in London, Siobhán confirmed in an interview with Wandsworth Radio that a new album would be coming next year (2017) "The Sugababes got a record coming out next year. We've been back and then there was a bit of a break but were working on it again, so it's exciting. I can't tell you the exact release date of the album. I know, but I cant tell you. It's next year."
On December 11, 2016 the track had leaked in full after a Instagram fan account of MKS (Sugababes_sb) announced the song had leaked sending fans in a meltdown wanting to hear the track instantly. I managed to get a hold of the track and clicked play. My thoughts straight away was "how on earth wasn't this released as a single?!" the song would have been an instant hit after the girls previously released their single 'Flatline' which had a moderate success in the United Kingdom which I also loved and their take on on Kendrick Lamar's 'Lay Down in Swimming Pools'.
As of now Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhán Donaghy haven't spoken out about the future of the group but the Instagram fan account (Sugababes_sb) has been updating fans of the legal process filling to regain the Sugababes name back as Keisha Buchanan gained the rights back in September to trademark the name in the United States. Buchanan has an ongoing legal process with London Crown Court for months after the case had been extended to provide evidence to the court she has until December 24th. Whether they regain the name back or not I guess it will be determined by the Crown Court.
